What constitutes ‘proof of purchase’?

The original receipt from the retailer or contract provider is a pre-requisite to the right to claim and that requirement will not be waived.

You must be able to provide an original purchase receipt provided at the point of sale, from a recognised commercial enterprise or retail outlet that gives details of the gadget purchased, including date of purchase, or other documents that provide similar proof that you own the gadget and the date of purchase.

Where the gadget is provided as part of an ongoing service contract, you will need to provide evidence of that contract showing the gadget provided. Insurers will accept this document as a purchase receipt.
