CSP Middle East Briefing
Recent events in the Middle East region have been well publicized and have the potential to develop and change at short notice.
Naturally, we are concerned for all our customers who are directly caught up as well as those that have had their immediate and future travel plans disrupted.
First and foremost, we want everybody to be safe and the Foreign Commonwealth Development Office (FCDO) are closely monitoring the situation across the region and issuing advice.
Bulletins are regularly updated, and for anyone caught up directly or indirectly due to the hostilities we strongly recommend that they register for updates including specific travel advisories.
Furthermore, for those directly affected, advice includes what they should do right now. These are taken from the FCDO guidance for the UAE, as an example, but other territories including Kuwait, Qatar and Israel have similar or more specific advice:
Shelter in place
- Due to reported missile attacks, British nationals should immediately shelter in place.
- Remain indoors in a secure location, avoid all travel and follow instructions from the local authorities.
Register your presence
Those in the area should let the UK government know as soon as possible to receive further updates from the UK FCDO:
- United Arab Emirates register your presence
- Qatar register your presence
- Kuwait register your presence
- Israel register your presence
We would also highly recommend that those impacted contact their travel providers before travelling to seek advice and guidance on available alternative travel options especially if they have yet to travel.
The insurance coverage through may vary dependant on the exact terms and conditions but we, in conjunction with our claims and assistance partners, are here to support anyone impacted.
