Pre-existing Medical Conditions

Getting cost effective travel insurance that can cover serious pre-existing medical conditions became a little easier from 26th April 2021 as the FCA signposting requirements were put into effect. Customers who have policies that exclude pre-existing medical conditions or who may be required to pay an additional premium to secure cover will now be directed to an FCA approved directory of specialist providers who may be able to help them.

The requirement does not apply to many of the insurances arranged by Crispin Speers & Partners, which also often give much wider cover for pre-existing medical conditions than is available on retail insurances, but we are partnering with the Money and Pensions Service to ensure that all of our customers are able to easily access the directory.*

We are also delighted that insurance offered by our Group companies and others arranged by us have been included in the directory.

*The Money and Pensions Service (MaPS) brings together three respected financial guidance bodies: the Money Advice Service, The Pensions Advisory Service and Pension Wise. MaPS is an arm’s-length body sponsored by the Department for Work and Pensions, established at the beginning of 2019, and also engages with HM Treasury on policy matters relating to financial capability and debt advice.
